2023 Butterfly Walk Report
For the second summer in a row now butterfly numbers have been low across SE Michigan, and this was certainly the case at the Rouge Park Prairie Butterfly walk on July 30. Perhaps the long cool spring followed by the early summer drought is to blame. Perhaps they are merely delayed and we'll see an increase in August. We hope so! However, we did see 13 species of butterflies plus a hummingbird clearwing moths. A BIG Thank you to Mark Bourn and Don Drife for their gorgeous photos! (Other photos are from previous years or stock photos).
