Paul Stark, Trustee

Paul Stark has lived less than 1-1/2 miles from Rouge Park for 38 years. He received a masters degree in Orientation and Mobility (1987) and in Political Science (1995). He worked as a high school teacher for the Detroit Public Schools for 25 years, and currently contracts with the State and the Greater Detroit Agency for the Blind & Visually Impaired to provide Orientation & Mobility services for the blind. In the 1990s, he was active with the Detroit Greens, Michigan Green Party, Detroit Summer and the president of the Penrod Block Club and served on the board of the Warrendale Community Organization (including as president for several years). He has been on the board of the Friends of Rouge Park since its founding in 2002, serving as secretary and managing the website for 20 years, and publishing the newsletter for its first five years. He has also done research on the history of Rouge Park and has produced two video presentations on the early history of the park.
