Detroit Outdoors was founded by three key stakeholders in 2017 to support and run Detroit’s first and only campground, located in Rouge Park called, Scout Hollow. Today Detroit Outdoors is a network of Detroit-based institutions working to expand access to a variety of outdoor recreation opportunities.

Detroit Black Food Sovereignty Network DBCFSN operates D-TOWN Farm, a seven acre organic farm in Rouge Park where they grow 30 different fruits, vegetables and herbs that are sold at farmers markets and to wholesale customers, including the Detroit People's Food Coop. The farm features four hoop houses for extended-season growing, bee-keeping, large-scale composting, farm tours and an annual harvest festival. The Detroit Black Community Food Sovereignty Network (DBCFSN) was established to ensure that Detroit's African American population plays a significant role in the local food movement. Through their initiatives, they strive to create sustainable, equitable food systems and advocate for policies that address the unique challenges faced by Black communities in Detroit and beyond.

Rouge Park Golf Course Rouge Park Golf Course and driving range was opened in 1928 as part of the city of Detroit Park System. The course is a gem in the city of Detroit enjoyed by thousands of golfers year round.

Brennan Pool & Recreation Area Operated by the City's Parks and Recreation Department, Brennan Pool has been a fixture of summertime fun in the Cody-Rouge Neighborhood for many years. The Brennan Pool House also offers dry land recreation programming including youth and adult crafts, games, and fitness lessons. The pools are open from Mid-June to Labor Day, seven days a week, noon to 8:00 pm. Admission is $2.00. For more info call 313-653-0621.

MCMBA/Rouge Park Mountain Biking Trail: This 3 mile trail circles the Rouge River between Tireman and Joy Rd. The trailhead is at Outer Dr. and Tireman. More info on the trail here: http://site.mcmba.org/index.php/trailguide-rougepark
