BRENNAN POOLS & RECREATION AREA

Operated by the City's Parks and Recreation Department, Brennan Pools has been a fixture of summertime fun in the Cody-Rouge Neighborhood for many years. The Brennan Pool House also offers dry land recreation programming including youth and adult crafts, games, and fitness lessons.

Pool: Detroit’s only outdoor and Olympic size pools opened in 1929. The pools are typically open from Mid-June to Labor Day seven days a week, noon to 8:00 pm. Admission is $2.00. Check out the city website for information on free swimming classes. A valid membership is required to access the pool and programs. Don't have a membership? Register through RecTrac to join in the summer fun! For more info call 313-653-0621.

Splash Pad: Open during the summer season from 12 noon to 8pm.

Recreation Area: One of the most popular areas of Rouge Park with a tennis court, basketball courts, playgrounds, and picnic shelters open to the public year-round. The Detroit Parks Coalition hosts Pistons Programming in the summer with free weekly basketball, tennis, dance classes and more throughout the summer at this location. More information about schedule and summer programming can be found here.

Eastern Market Distribution: Detroit Parks Coalition in partnership with Eastern Market distributes free produce boxes out of the Brennan Recreation Area on Saturdays throughout the summer. Look out for their tent and table or visit Detroit Parks Coalition website for current information.
